Hi there,

My name is Luke Meadows and I’ve got coeliac disease (no gluten for me) and I can’t eat lactose (intolerant).

I think I was probably always intolerant to gluten & lactose. Up to the age of about 20 I ate a lot of it. My stomach was fine, but I was always very, very sicky: either about to have flu, recovering from flu, or in the midst of having flu.

At about 16 I started noticing very strange stomach sensations after some meals, but assumed it was a normal thing to experience. While at university my stomach started to play up. When I was about 20 I started experimenting with my diet.

Long story short, turns out if I don’t eat gluten and lactose I’m a whole lot healthier and my stomach and immune system is generally as happy as can be.

I’ve built this blog to share some of the tips, tricks, recommendations, gut recovery techniques and professionals that help me keep happily free from.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way a professional nutritionist or dietitian and anything you read here should be treated with care and any advice followed only after seeking counsel from your own health professionals.

I hope sharing some of my experiences help some of you.

Here’s a recent photo of me eating my first pain au chocolat in at least 20 years - purchased only moments earlier from the magical H.U.G bakery in Copenhagen.
